2025 John S. Toll Science and Mathematics Apprentice Program

Students wishing to be considered for designation as an apprentice in the John S. Toll Science and Mathematics Fellows Program, will need to submit a 500-word essay no later than April 7, 2025. A teacher recommendation is requested, but optional. In your essay, you should:

(1) Describe how you hope to benefit from your position as a John S. Toll Apprentice. 
(2) Describe how you hope to benefit from a research collaboration with faculty at Washington College as a John S. Toll Science and Mathematics Fellow. 
(3) Describe the specific qualities or skills you possess that would contribute to the success of a collaborative student-faculty research project in the sciences or mathematics.

Please Note: PDF Format for your essay is recommended. 

The optional recommendation for the apprenticeship should be from a current or former teacher of a mathematics or laboratory science course. Teacher recommendations should address the students' interest in mathematics or laboratory science courses and the students’ performance in these courses.
