Students wishing to be considered for designation as an apprentice in the John S. Toll Science and Mathematics Fellows Program, will need to submit a 500-word essay no later than April 7, 2025. A teacher recommendation is requested, but optional. In your essay, you should:(1) Describe how you hope to benefit from your position as a John S. Toll Apprentice. (2) Describe how you hope to benefit from a research collaboration with faculty at Washington College as a John S. Toll Science and Mathematics Fellow. (3) Describe the specific qualities or skills you possess that would contribute to the success of a collaborative student-faculty research project in the sciences or mathematics.Please Note: PDF Format for your essay is recommended. The optional recommendation for the apprenticeship should be from a current or former teacher of a mathematics or laboratory science course. Teacher recommendations should address the students' interest in mathematics or laboratory science courses and the students’ performance in these courses.
